The Seniors Section at Bramshott Hill has approximately ninety members, all men and all over 60! We have a concession time every Monday morning of an hour, when an organised competition is held with an average of sixty players. To play you would have “signed up” beforehand and names are drawn for playing partners, so you get to play with the whole range of senior members and rapidly meet the others. The competitions vary weekly, but we try to play at least two qualifiers a month which count towards your handicap. There are various trophies to be won for the competitions, and also for annual Knock Out tournaments.

We play around twenty friendly matches during the year against other clubs, both home and away, and most members get an opportunity to represent the club. We also play three or four mixed matches with the Ladies against other local clubs. There are opportunities throughout the season to play Open events at other clubs, which are great ways in which to play different courses, meet other golfers and have most enjoyable occasions. We organise our own BHGC Seniors Open every year which attracts over one hundred and twenty entrants from other clubs.

Also we have our own very popular Captain’s Day and there are other good social events, including playing scrambles with the Men’s, Ladies and Juniors sections. Off the course, Club quiz evenings and other events are held occasionally, which are good opportunities to get to know other members better and meet their other halves.

Even though the BHGC has its home at the Dibden Golf Centre, which is a Mytime Golf course, we have the opportunity to meet with the Mytime on a regular basis, to get involved in the operation of the course. Our Course Professionals regularly run lessons especially for groups of seniors to keep our interest and standards improving!
The Seniors Committee is very active and all members have the opportunity to get involved with the club activities, participate in the organisation and join the committee. New members are always encouraged to offer themselves as candidates for election to the committee, as Captain or in any other contributing role!
